Share your Saturday with a dog from the shelter in Seslavtsi
After a long renovation, the shelter in Seslavtsi opened its doors in 2019. Since the beginning of 2020, our Saturdays have been reserved for its inhabitants. The shelter is designed for puppies and their mothers, as well as dogs that have been separated from their mothers and throwed away. Sometimes, by exception, grown dogs are accommodated there, which are most often abandoned by their owners

When and where?
Every Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00
Seslavtsi Municipal Shelter
How do I get there?
Public transport
Near the shelter there is a stop of intercity bus line No. 117/ Iztok - Buhovo city. You need to get off at the stop “The fork for Seslavtsi“ and walk a little on foot to the shelter itself.
Shared travel
We practice shared travel so if you are looking for or offer transportation write to the event that we upload every week on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/1500doggang. Be as specific as possible - how many seats you are looking for/ or offering, where you are passing by or where it is convenient for you to be picked up, etc.
What will you need and what can you wear?
Clothes you are not afraid to get dirty
Second pair of shoes to change after the visit
Sunscreen and anti-tick spray - especially in the summer months
Bring water, as there is no convenient place nearby to buy
If you wish, you can bring treats for the dogs, their favorite are the sausages
Rules of the walks
When there are enough volunteers, we manage to walk all the dogs every week. This is a great advantage over the huge number of dogs in Bogrov, but still not enough for the dogs that needs a walk every day. Although the number of dogs in Seslavtsi is small, it is important to follow several rules to ensure the safety of people (and especially children) and the dogs themselves.
The dogs are taken out fo the cages in a special order (cage by cage). A senior volunteer will do that for you and give you the dog ouside the cage. Together with the dog, you are given a cardboard with the number of the cage from which it is.
When you are already with a dog, your walk in the meadow begins. It lasts around 30 minutes. Once its time to go back to the cage, a senior volunteer will call the number of the cage
During the walk it is very important to keep a distance of at least 2m from dogs that are not from the same cage.
Instead of a walk, you can choose to spend time playing and petting with the smaller puppies that we let run in the enclosures.
During the walk, you can give treats to the dog. Its important to do it away from other dogs, so that they do not fight with each other. Please do not go inside the cages or throw food to the dogs while they are in the cages, as this can lead to accidents.
After 30 minutes, it's time to get the dog back. Before returning to the cage, we can give some extra food under the shed. After feeding, dogs are brought back to their cages by a senior volunteer. The card is returned to the senior volunteer so that it is not confused with the next one you will receive.
